See high barrier 11 layer film demonstration using TOPAS® COC at extrusion equipment manufacturer KUHNE-Anlagenbau during K2010.
Extrusion machinery supplier KUHNE-Anlagenbau (Hall 17 / Booth A41) will process TOPAS® COC resins during K2010 at their facility in St. Augustin, Germany, as Kuhne Anlagenbau introduces their new 11-layer Triple-Bubble® blown film technology. This new model on the one hand represents an advancement of the orientation technology established in Kuhne Anlagenbau GmbH since long and on the other hand allows the realisation of a further developed layer structure designed for ultra high barrier films. Such 11-layer films are appropriate to successfully substitute metalized films and in particular aluminium laminated films. Due to the Kuhne Triple-Bubble®-technology the 11-layer films can either be produced with high shrink (up to 70%) or almost without any shrink (0-2%).
TOPAS Advanced Polymers (Booth 8a/C28) is the producer of TOPAS® cyclic olefin copolymers (COC) which offer high purity, excellent transparency and rigidity, high moisture & alcohol barrier, and high resistance to acids and bases.
In flexible packaging TOPAS® COC helps to boost performance of specialty multilayer films in a wide range of applications. Examples are forming and barrier webs, shrink films and labels, twist-films or pharma blister films.
