Reaching for New Markets

Market development efforts continue to focus on new uses for these versatile COCs. Specifically, there has been considerable work in COC foams which deliver enhanced stiffness, better heat resistance, and improved cell formation. Under development are TOPAS COCs that can be used by themselves or blended with other polyolefins for foam applications such as microwave packaging. In housewares, injection moldable COCs are being developed to replace polycarbonate as a BPA-free alternative in kitchen appliances such as mixers and blenders and storage containers.
